Global PXM Rollout — Mars Petcare & Royal Canin
Global Product Experience Management for Mars Petcare and Royal Canin
Mars Petcare engaged Doctor Project to design and implement a global PXM architecture for Royal Canin and affiliated brands. Scope: 8,000 products, 90,000+ digital assets, distribution across 6 regulatory zones including EU, North America, and Asia-Pacific. The engagement spanned PLM to syndication — covering data model design, integration architecture, and enrichment workflow delivery on Akeneo PIM with MuleSoft as the integration layer.

Regulatory Complexity and Data Fragmentation Across 6 Global Markets
Royal Canin products carry country-specific regulatory requirements: nutritional labeling formats, ingredient declaration standards, and veterinary claim rules that vary by zone. Product data was fragmented across PLM, DAM, and local ERP instances with no unified enrichment layer to resolve conflicts, manage local overrides, or ensure compliance before syndication. Manual rework on every market rollout was the norm. The business needed a scalable architecture capable of managing global product data with local regulatory precision.

PLM to Syndication Pipeline, Akeneo PIM, and MuleSoft Integration Architecture
Architected a PLM to DAM to Akeneo to MuleSoft to Syndication pipeline covering 8,000 products and 90,000+ digital assets. Defined a global attribute model with structured local override capability for regulatory compliance per zone. MuleSoft integration reduced manual data transfers by 70%. Delivered enrichment workflows for 6 regulatory markets including EU nutritional labeling, North America ingredient requirements, and Asia-Pacific market specifications. Full metadata tagging framework for 90,000+ DAM assets integrated into the Akeneo channel model.
